FAQ

Clear essentials for clients and freelancers before you post, propose or hire.

What is Afrigig?

Afrigig is a marketplace that connects clients with African freelance professionals. Clients can post projects, review proposals and hire freelancers, while freelancers can create profiles, find suitable projects and submit proposals.

How does Afrigig work for clients?

Create a client account, describe the work you need, publish your project and review proposals from interested freelancers. You can discuss the project with suitable candidates and offer contract terms to your preferred freelancer.

How does Afrigig work for freelancers?

Create a freelancer account, complete your professional profile and browse available projects. When you find suitable work, submit a proposal explaining your approach, delivery estimate and price. The client may then contact you to discuss the project or offer you a contract.

What types of work can I find or commission on Afrigig?

Afrigig supports professional freelance services including administration, customer support, design, writing, marketing, technology, data, finance and business operations. Each project listing should clearly describe the required skills, deliverables, budget and timeline.

Is it free to join Afrigig?

Yes. Creating an account, publishing a project, submitting a proposal and messaging through Afrigig are free. Marketplace fees apply only when paid work moves through Afrigig and are shown before either party commits. Payment controls are not currently active, and Afrigig does not currently provide escrow or payment protection. See the pricing page for current rates and minimums.

How does an Afrigig contract begin?

A client starts the process by accepting a freelancer's proposal and sending contract terms. The contract becomes active only after the freelancer also accepts the displayed scope, price or rate, delivery estimate and any milestones. Both parties should review these details carefully before accepting.

Can clients and freelancers communicate before agreeing a contract?

Yes. Clients and freelancers can use Afrigig messaging to discuss a proposal, clarify requirements and agree expectations before entering a contract. Keeping important project discussions on Afrigig also creates a clearer record if a disagreement arises later.

Does Afrigig verify freelancers?

Afrigig may display specific identity, evidence, assessment or professional-credential checks on a freelancer's profile. Each label describes the particular check completed; it is not a universal guarantee of suitability or work quality. Clients should still review the freelancer's profile, proposal, portfolio and relevant experience.

What happens if a project does not go to plan?

Clients and freelancers should first try to resolve the issue through clear communication. If that is unsuccessful, either participant can report the problem or open a dispute through Afrigig. Relevant messages, contract terms and delivery records may be reviewed by authorised Afrigig staff. Read the marketplace terms before starting work.
