Information Afrigig collects

This may include account and contact details, client projects, freelancer profiles and portfolios, proposals, direct messages, contract and delivery records, security records, service communications and technical information needed to keep the marketplace working.

How information is used

Afrigig uses this information to create and secure accounts, publish marketplace content, deliver proposals and messages, record contracts and delivery activity, send service messages, prevent misuse, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations.

Who can see it

Published freelancer profiles, approved portfolio items and open project listings are public. Proposals, direct messages, contracts, delivery records and dispute details are restricted to the relevant participants and authorised Afrigig team members. Afrigig may use vetted hosting, database, authentication and email providers to operate the service. Information is not sold.

Retention

Draft and submitted project information is reviewed for deletion after 18 months. Account, security, moderation and audit records may be kept longer where needed for safety, dispute handling or legal obligations. Public profile content is removed when it is unpublished or the account is closed, subject to necessary backups and records.

International processing

Afrigig serves users across countries and uses online service providers. Information may therefore be processed outside the country where it was submitted, with safeguards appropriate to the service and provider.

Your choices and rights

You can update marketplace information through your account. You may also ask for access, correction or deletion of personal information, object to certain uses, or close your account. Some records may be retained where required for security or legal reasons.

Questions or requests

Use the contact details in an Afrigig service email to make a privacy request. Afrigig may need to verify your identity before acting on it.
